{"id":134,"date":"2016-04-30T18:03:37","date_gmt":"2016-04-30T16:03:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/?p=134"},"modified":"2016-05-02T18:17:13","modified_gmt":"2016-05-02T16:17:13","slug":"road-to-rio-training-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/index.php\/2016\/04\/30\/road-to-rio-training-camp\/","title":{"rendered":"Road to Rio training camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">After WTS Cape Town, I headed to Stellenbosch for a week long training camp hosted by Triathlon South Africa.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We were accommodated at SAS (Stellenbosch Academy of Sport) which was a superb facility with staff friendliness to make you feel at home and also equipped well enough to train as needed.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-135\" src=\"http:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-04-29-12.55.22-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"2016-04-29 12.55.22\" width=\"647\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-04-29-12.55.22-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-04-29-12.55.22-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-04-29-12.55.22-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 647px) 100vw, 647px\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It&#8217;s been a great week of some solid training. A big advantage for me was that I was, for the first time, training alongside some of the South African able bodied Elite Triathletes. It was not only a honour but also a privilege for them to share their knowledge and experience as I am still relatively new to the triathlon scene.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With a handful of different coaches at our disposal &#8211; technique, training advice and just general race tips were readily available. Sometimes hearing the same thing your coach usually tells you just in a different manner from another coach is all it takes for some improvements to things such as swim stroke or hill attacking on the bike.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-136\" src=\"http:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-04-29-12.57.25-576x1024.jpg\" alt=\"2016-04-29 12.57.25\" width=\"281\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-04-29-12.57.25-576x1024.jpg 576w, https:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-04-29-12.57.25-169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/stanandrews.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-04-29-12.57.25-768x1365.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 281px) 100vw, 281px\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">All in all, it really was an awesome week spent with awesome triathletes and coaches.<br \/>\nI look forward to pushing even harder towards my dream of Rio 2016.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Thank you to Triathlon South Africa for the opportunity.
